a pancreas-secreted hormone that is required for sugar metabolism. Whenever insulin production is null or insufficient due to any pancreatic dysfunction, the blood sugar level increases. Diabetic people, who are those whose pancreas does not produce enough insulin, must strictly control their diet, and in many cases, inject insulin into their body. Not to be mistaken with “inulin.”
