A product or substance which eases the draining of toxic substances contained in the blood circulation system, whether of external or internal origin (chemical contamination), or produced by the body itself, such as protein metabolic waste (for instance, uric acid and urea). The elimination of these toxic substances takes place through the urine, sweat, and the liver. Depurative products are usually diuretic and sudorific.
